How to run a hackerspace 2.0

Narva mnt 101, Tartu

Hackerspace is a community, where people with similar interests and world views meet to share knowledge and experience from computer science, electronics, machines, etc and build something new. Hackerspace’s mission is to promote a hacker culture that enriches social life, the use and development of free and open-source software, and to think outside the framework of formal education, which encourages innovation.

Thanks to this, many students have joined our community, who find new applications of the knowledge they acquired at the university in the hacker room, which makes the hacker room a useful cooperation partner for the university. Based on this, the theme of our upcoming event is how to manage a hackerspace in a way that most effectively helps achieve these mission-based goals. And to help this discussion, Lauri Võsandi, who is one of the founders and managers of Tallinn-based k-space, shares his experiences.
