Off-Grid Messaging with LoRa and Meshtastic/MeshCore

Ever wanted a chat application that does not care whether the internet is up? Come learn how LoRa mesh networks make that possible. We will introduce LoRa, then pit the open-source projects Meshtastic and MeshCore side by side, explain the differences, share best practices, point you to the local Meshtastic/MeshCore community channels, and recommend beginner-friendly devices to get started.

After the intro, it is hands-on time: we will have Meshtastic/MeshCore compatible devices available to flash and try on the spot, so you can join the mesh and send messages around the room. Some units may also be available to take with you afterward. Bring a laptop, a USB-C cable, and a smartphone for the app.
